The Key Factors in Mindfulness and How to Have a Healthier Mind
The mind is central to everything we do. It’s something that controls our body and nurtures our soul. People spend their entire lives enriching it, even though they don’t realise it. Needless to say, our minds have considerable influence over our day-to-day lives. However, most people tend to ignore and neglect its true potential.
We ignore that inherent awareness of our minds. There is no doubt about the fact that with mindfulness, you’ll experience a significant change in your life and your interactions with others.

The Key Factors of Mindfulness
For some reason, people are under the impression that mindfulness is a hoax. That it’s something which can’t be explained by science and falls under the same category as magic, psychic energy, spirituality, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, mindfulness is actually an ingrained instinct that we’ve forgotten to cultivate. It’s something that’s natural and practical. At its very core, mindfulness is about mastering your mind and your perception. Here are some of the key factors about this practice.
Mindfulness is Awareness
Mindfulness is all about awareness. It’s about exploring your natural observational skills to the fullest and becoming more aware about your surroundings. While meditation focuses inwards, mindfulness focuses on the outside world. When your mind is aware and accepting, it’s calm and peaceful. That gives you the ability to accept and handle all kinds of problems with intelligence and ease.
Mindfulness isn’t the same as Relaxation
If you want to relax, you can meditate and ignore the world. Mindfulness might lead to relaxation, but it’s not the goal of this practice. The goal is to build your natural perception and cultivate a deeper understanding of the world around you.
Clearing Your Mind isn’t a Part of Mindfulness
Your thoughts and emotions are an integral part of your mind. Mindfulness isn’t about ignoring or suppressing these thoughts. It’s about viewing and understanding them with an unbiased and frank perspective. This would give you clarity of thought and allow you to handle all problems and situations objectively.
Mindfulness isn’t About Sitting in One Place
People often confuse meditation and mindfulness. They assume that they need to sit in one place and breathe deeply to cultivate mindfulness. While doing so wouldn’t hurt you or hamper you ability to learn mindfulness, this isn’t what the practice is supposed to be. You should explore the world, communicate with people, and observe everything. While you’re doing this, you should consider every input you get carefully. That’s mindfulness.

How to Have a Healthy Mind
Learning mindfulness isn’t difficult but trying to implement it and practice it continuously takes time and patience. You need to reach a state where mindfulness is a constant state of being. When it becomes instinctive, you’ll find that you’re calm, logical, level-headed, and stable.
In essence, your mind is healthy and stress-free. This is because your mind is processing all the input it gets carefully, and with an unbiased perspective. This leads to acceptance. You’re not festering in rage, clinging on to old hurts, feeling insulted by a slight, etc. When your mind is healthy and accepting, you’ll find that everything else also falls in place & you start heading towards a much better life.
